Hello everyone,

On this page I will tell you the story of Yuska.

Why YusKa?

-This word comes from the Sioux language it means "Free Spirit".

The logo I chose (circles accompanied by three lines on the sides) represent the Sioux sun.  I particularly like art  native american, you will know why after reading this bio :)

Jewelry creations:

I lived and grew up in the countryside with a stonecutter sculptor dad. I spent my childhood to follow his restoration projects castles  medieval , abbeys and monasteries .

I was lulled by medieval culture and the tales and legends that revolved around that time.

Which explains the enchantment and nature that you find  in my designs.

It was only natural that I turned to a craft career after working in the trade world.

I have chosen to offer sustainable quality jewelry.

I work on the finesse of the jewel  and the enhancement of the stone.

After doing many trials and tests on my creations, I decided to go for it and create my shop.

Regarding stones and mother-of-pearl:

-All stones used are natural untinted and unstained and of very high quality, I want to offer the best choice of gems to my customers.

-For mother-of-pearl I only use natural non-tinted and unmodified mother-of-pearl, because you should know that today we can offer you synthetic mother-of-pearl which looks very real but which did not have the same path only real mother-of-pearl and which suddenly do not have the same value at all.

Regarding metals:

You can find on the large pieces my maker's mark which represents my initials accompanied by a tulip.

Jewelry in 925 silver and 14 and 18k gold are also hallmarked (for solid silver: 925 - for 14k gold: 14k - and - for 18k gold: 18k).

There exists  some exceptions on some parts which are too thin to withstand punching .

-Brass

I chose to work with brass because it is an alloy that I particularly like.

It was used a lot in the past.

This metal often makes us think of the jewels that we inherited from generation to generation in the past.

Brass had a very special place in jewelry and was very popular.

It gradually disappeared because it is a difficult alloy to work with and which is more capricious.  than some new metals.

I practiced a lot to work with brass.

After doing a lot of research and testing I managed to find the perfect alloy  copper and zinc balanced, which allows me to offer a durable metal that slips like gold, does not change color and does not age  not.

-Gold

I also offer a beautiful range of 18k and 14k gold jewelry.

All of my designs can be crafted in gold.

I usually create gold to order, but occasionally I bring out a few unique pieces, earrings, bracelets and necklaces.

The rings are only made to measure because they require a perfectly adapted size.

-Solid silver 925

I also make creations in 925 Silver.

The silver is massive it is not plated, I am against the plating because over time the silver deteriorates and you will only have the alloy which was below and which in general changes color and tarnishes.

it is massive silver according to French standards.

I revalue all my silver scraps so as not to pollute and not waste, they are remelted in the forge for other jewels.

All my creations are handmade and designed by me.

When you buy a YusKa jewel, I offer you a cleaning and repair service ( possible  metal and stone cleaning and a breakage repair service and others) for that, you just have to contact me by mail, phone or via the shop.

Pyrography paintings on wood:

Here I am again for a new story.

That of my creations on wood.

I have always been close to nature and animals.

Native American culture  always fascinated me.

Having the chance to have family living in Quebec I had the opportunity to make many trips to meet the natives.  living in Quebec . Their art inspired me a lot, especially  the Inuit who is very much represented in my creations. All of my paintings are unique and freehand. They  are signed YusKa.

You will find in my paintings three colors, white, black and red which are the three primary colors. representations  of my creations are very often animals with a symbolism  or a living scene inside  of an animal.

As for wood, I will look for it myself in the forest in my beautiful  Provence . I only take lifeless woods, I cut them, sand them, pyrograve them, paint them and I use a natural wax to protect them.

I am happy to have been able to tell you the story of Yuska and I hope that she  you were pleased.

If you have any questions or just want to say hi, feel free to chat with me.
